Don’t be afraid to experiment with dumplings – add your own flavours to compliment your dish!

Sweet dumpling with berries
The number of dumplings will vary according to choice and size of fruit
Ingredients
150g self-raising flour
75g vegetable suet
30g caster sugar
blackberries/raspberries
milk (to mix)
Method
Mix all the ingredients, except the fruit, to form a soft dough.
Roll out dough and cut out small discs, big enough to cover the berries but avoiding excess dough.
Deep-fry the dumplings at 170 ˚C for 6-8 minutes, or until golden and fluffy.
Delicious served with ice cream, custard or fruit syrup.
